Meghalaya is the best place to visit if you are seeking for peace along with beauty in a place.

1. UMIAM LAKE    It is one of the biggest artificial lakes in Meghalaya that is situated about 15km north of Shillong.

2. LAITLUM CANYON   It is perched in the East of Khasi hills, one can see the gorges and steep stairways down the lush valley. Laitlum means 'end of hills' and this sublimely beautiful hilltop appears to be true to its name.

3. KREM LIAT PRAH CAVES   It is the longest natural cave in India. The length of this cave is around 34km.

4. DOUBLE DECKER LIVING ROOT BRIDGE   This living root bridge is created by the members of Khasi tribes, who have grown them from rubber trees. 

5. NOHKALIKAI WATERFALLS   It is the tallest plunge waterfall in India. Its height is 340m. It is located near Cherrapunji.

6. ELEPHANT FALLS   It is a two-tier waterfall in Shillong which is named after Elephant like stone at its foot.

7.DAWKI- UMNGOT RIVER   The water of Umngot is so clear that the boats floating on it look as if they are on a crystal glass surface.

8.CHERRAPUNJI   It is a high altitude town in Meghalaya which is known for its viewpoint.

9. MAWPHLANG SACRED FOREST   It is about 25km away from Shillong and known for its varieties of plants, flowers, trees and it is considered sacred by the people.

10. KHASI HILLS   These hills are best known for being the wettest place in India. it is one of the most beautiful hill stations in India. 

11. SIJU CAVES   It is known as Bat Cave also, it is a limestone cave and famous for stalagmites.

12. GARDEN OF CAVES   It is a natural space created by seasonal waterfalls which are fed by rains. It is surrounded by green bushes, hedges and plants. 

THE WEATHER

The climate is warm and temperate in Shillong. Summers have a good deal of rainfall pattern, unlike winters. The average temperature in Shillong is 17.1°C and precipitation is about 3385mm per year. 

The tourists mostly visit Meghalaya from April to June and September to November.

THE CULTURE

The people of Meghalaya are known to be hospitable, cheerful and friendly. The tribes believe that religion is GOD gifted. There are various tribes such as Garo, Khasi, Jaintia etc. Each tribe has its own culture, traditions, dress and language.

And the care, love and kindness are all perished.

He is a roguish creature,
Immorality is his distinct feature.
At first, he will help you with a pretty smile,
But it turns to be wicked in a while.

Once he controls you,
his decisions are incorrigible.
Even if one tries to become better,
He would suppress the resilience.

If one is being amiable to you for a moment,
He ambushes and shows his power at a sudden.
To make people selfish is his task,
He is the real face behind the mask.
